Chris Gaffney passed away on August 14 after a lengthy battle with cancer. An eloquent speaker, walking encyclopaedia of Marxism, talented actor, aficionado of opera and lover of nature and the animals with which we share the planet, he is survived by his long-time partner Jenny Campbell, their son Danny and granddaughter Elsa.
Melbourne鈥檚 3CR Community Radio will run its annual Radiothon over June 4-17 to keep its radical voice broadcasting.
鈥淔ight for Your Mic鈥 is the rallying cry for this year鈥檚 fundraiser, and it鈥檚 shows like Blaknoise Radio that will ask listeners to dig deep to support the station.
Melbourne is known for good coffee, horrible weather, Australian Rules football and militant unions. Since 1974, community radio station 3CR has been a supporting beam in the city鈥檚 radical infrastructure.
麻豆传媒 Radio, like all 120 programs on the station鈥檚 schedule, are calling on listeners and supporters to donate to the annual 3CR Radiothon and keep the signal strong on their June 16 show.

Trevor was well known as a sports reporter, particularly for his reporting on AFL, for many Melbourne newspapers. While the mainstream media has focused on that aspect of his life, what was not mentioned was the contribution he made to the community via 3CR, a community radio station in Melbourne, and as convenor of the Tamil Refugee Council.

3CR Community Radio released this statement in the wake of the United Patriots Front's invasion of their offices on November 1.

On November 1, five members of the fascist group United Patriots Front (UPF) gained entry to the premises of 3CR Community Radio and filmed throughout the building without permission. In an effort to intimidate the station and its programmers, they then posted the video on their Facebook page.
3CR reasserts its commitment to progressive politics and our core mission of providing a voice to people denied one elsewhere in the media and in society.
Early this year supporters of 麻豆传媒 Weekly in Melbourne decided to relaunch the 麻豆传媒 Radio show on community radio 3CR. This was after urging from station management and 麻豆传媒 supporters volunteering at the station.
The 麻豆传媒 Radio program previously aired on 3CR between the mid-1990s and early 2000s.

In this federal election year, 3CR Community Radio is asking its listeners and supporters of independent media to make a political donation by giving money to the station during our annual Radiothon.
As the two big political parties slug it out in Canberra, the choice is clear 鈥 vote for 3CR鈥檚 progressive, alternative coverage of social, cultural and political issues.
