Supporters of Julian Assange, the Australian journalist imprisoned in Belmarsh prison in Britain and abandoned by his own country’s authorities, rallied outside the British Consulate on October 28.
Prosecutors in the British High Court want to overturn Judge Vanessa Baraitser's  against extradition. It began a two-day hearing on an appeal by United States authorities to extradite Assange.
Assange faces multiple charges under the US Espionage Act and a 175-year prison sentence for exposing US war crimes in Iraq and Afghanistan.
Assange has reportedly been the target of CIA plots for his surveillance, kidnap and assassination.
Outside the court in London on October 27, Assange's partner Stella Morris said the High Court's proceedings would decide "whether a journalist will be extradited to the country that conspired to assassinate him".
WikiLeaks editor-in-chief Kristinn Hrafnsson told supporters that Assange had been blocked from attending his own hearing and would be forced to attend via video-link from prison.
