Refugees and supporters marched on November 9, continuing their campaign for permanent visas for more than 9000 people, whose refugee claims were rejected under the flawed Fast Track system.听
The demonstration was organised by refugees who spent 100 days camping around the clock, initially outside the Oakleigh office of home affairs minister Tony Burke, then the Docklands office of the home affairs department.
Tamil refugee Rathi Bathlote said they had experienced 鈥12 years of fear鈥, facing the threat of deportation to countries from which they fled.
鈥淲e remain strong and will continue to fight鈥, she said.
