Rainbow Rebellion marched and chanted through the city鈥檚 street on November 28, the last day of Pride Week. They took aim at the event becoming so corporate, the state government鈥檚 lack of funding and rights for trans youth, and for urgent action on climate change.

About 200 people chanted 鈥淲oodside get off it our Pride is not for profit鈥 and 鈥淲e will not be quiet, Stonewall was a riot!鈥 They also called for the reintroduction of inclusive education, the funding for which was recently removed, and condemned the five-year wait times for trans youth at the Children鈥檚 Hospital which has the only gender support clinic.

The contingent was a reminder that the struggle for LGBTI rights continues, despite the gains that have been won.
