Almost 1000 Palestine solidarity activists converged on Parliament House on November 13, many travelling from interstate.
Ngambri woman, Leah House, welcomed people and paid tribute to Palestinians who consistently stand with First Nations people in Australia.
"I can accept that Australians here today cannot change what happened [250 years ago in Australia]," she said. "But today! Australians can make a difference today!"
Jewish academic Peter Slezak told the rally that it is not anti-Semitic to protest the crimes of the state of Israel.
He defended the slogan "from the River to the Sea, Palestine will be free" saying that "to call for the liberation of the Palestinian people is not calling for the destruction of Israel, but for justice and self determination".
Reverend Gregor Henderson emphasised that Christians and Muslims had lived in harmony in historic Palestine for centuries.
Shaykh Ahmed Abdo said the description of Gaza as an "open air prison" is false because prisons are for criminals.
Israel, the occupier, is the criminal party he said, warning Prime Minister Anthony Albanese and foreign minister Penny Wong to stop supporting for the criminal occupier.
Other speakers included Greens leader Adam Bandt, who reiterated his call for a ceasefire and an end to the siege of Gaza.
Participants erected a Palestinian flag on one of the Parliament House flag poles.
