About 200 people, largely First Nations peoples, attended a rally and press conference in Tarndanyangga (Victoria Square) on May 6 to mark the coronial inquest into the death in custody of Wayne “Fella” Morrison.
“It is important to recognise the ongoing tragedies occurring on Kaurna land and to recognise that these are colonial tragedies,” Morrison’s sister Latoya Rule.
“We have waited almost five years for a coronial inquiry. We want these torture devices, spit hoods, permanently banned.”
