Activists calling for Julian Assange to be freed gathered outside Prime Minister Anthony Albanese’s electorate office in Marrickville on July 20 to deliver a giant letter demanding he be freed and not extradited to the United States.
Two Federal Police, a fixture at the weekly protests, allowed just two of the 20 protesters into the reception area, and forbade any photos saying these were on the order of Albanese’s office. Stephen Langford read out the short letter.
Outside cars, trucks and buses blew their horns, making clear they supported freedom for the political prisoner, who is still locked up in Belmarsh Prison and who has still not been charged.
