Activists ask Arch Insurance to back away from Adani

Stop Adani activists visited the offices of property and liability insurance company Arch Insurance in the CBD on September 15.

Arch is involved in providing insurance to Adani’s Carmichael thermal coal mine in the Galilee Basinin Central Queensland.

Activists had wanted to ask Arch CEO Marc Grandissonto publicly rule out covering the Adani dirty coal mine, the rail link and other associated infrastructure and project contractors. He was not available.

About 19 majorinsurance companieshave declared that they will not insure Adani and all but nine of Lloyd’ssyndicates have yet to do so.

Activists had made a“Stop Adani”cake to share with Arch employees but, unfortunately, the office was closed. Employees can, however, complete a confidential staffsurvey, set up by .
