Issue

Despite claims of corruption and so-called “illegality” in the Construction Forestry Maritime Employees Union (CFMEU), Labor's new laws is aimed at nobbling one of Australia's most militant unions that has managed to protect the health and safety of workers in the very dangerous construction industry.

Long-time construction industry health and safety trainer Sue Bull and unionist Sam Wainwright — both national co-convenors of the Socialist Alliance — told the 鶹ý Show that Labor's new laws which put the CFMEU construction division into administration are the worst attack on unions they have seen in their lifetime.

They warned that workers will die if these anti-union laws are not stopped.
