Over the past 27 years, 麻豆传媒 Weekly has given voice to activists in the Asia-Pacific region fighting for justice and freedom and built up strong bonds of internationalist solidarity with the movements and parties they are part of.

We believe it is important that GLW continues to report on struggles in neighbouring countries from the point of view of the oppressed and exploited majority.

An important conference for activists will be held in Sydney on May 13 to 15. 鈥淪ocialism for the 21st Century鈥 will focus on deepening the discussion about the theory and practice of the socialist movement today. Conference organiser Susan Price told 麻豆传媒 Weekly that the conference would discuss the challenges of building movements for radical social change while taking the struggle into capitalist institutions, such as parliaments and councils.
A secene from the peoples' power' uprising that ousted the US-backed Marcos dictatorship 30 years ago. The EDSA Uprising of February 25, 1986, overthrew the Philippine's brutal US-backed dictatorship of Ferdinand Marcos. The uprising was named after the Manila thoroughfare where events unfolded. It is often known as 鈥淓DSA 1鈥 to distinguish it from later uprisings that occurred in EDSA.
