February 19 is a key event in the Australian Defence calendar, with the Australian Defence Magazine (ADM) organising the 22nd ADM Congress, AUKUS Pillar II Conference and 6th ADM Summit.
These aim to facilitate connections between industry and defence delegates, working to extend Australia’s military capabilities through advancing technologies. Such technologies have been continually applied to ethno-nationalist fronts of genocidal and asymmetric warfare.
The Australian state’s agenda with this is made clear by it’s collaboration with Israeli genocide in Gaza and by the AUKUS agreement – the Albanese govt’s $368 billion nuclear submarine deal with the US and UK – which detracts from efforts to address the cost-of-living and housing crises and may make Australia a target in warfare, as well as the site of environmentally harmful nuclear waste dumps.
