The January 26, 1938, Day of Mourning silent protest, held 87 years ago, stands as one of the earliest organised acts of Indigenous resistance. This has never been a date to celebrate. The fight against settler colonialism, escalating race/ class divisions, climate injustice, and inaction are being felt here and across the globe and demand our collective efforts.
Allies, now is the time to show up, if you haven’t already.
Be sunsmart, it’s going to be warm, and COVID-safe by wearing a mask and staying home if you’re unwell. Auslan interpreter available for accessibility.
