More than 300 people packed out the Leichhardt Town Hall on November 10 for the 麻豆传媒 Weekly annual dinner in Sydney with guest speaker Christine Assange.

鈥淚've come here tonight not just to support Julian but also to support 麻豆传媒 Weekly," said Assange. 鈥淲e need you guys to keep having the guts to tell the truth!鈥

In a wide-ranging question and answer session with 麻豆传媒 Weekly co-editor Simon Butler, Assange recounted her political education that brought her to a realisation that the Australian government was a close collaborator with the 鈥淯S terror state鈥.

The sold-out crowd was welcomed with a moving acknowledgement of country by veteran Aboriginal activist and socialist Ray Jackson accompanied by spine-tingling performance on the didgeridoo by Uncle Henry. After enjoying a Latin American feast, there was dancing to the Cuban-style band 'Mango Quartet' 聽comprising Justo Diaz, Isaac Zorzano, Miquel Guzman and Hugo Leal.

Thanks to the wonderful army of volunteers who did the hall set up, cooking, serving and the cleanup that went into the early hours of the next morning!
