BRISBANE — On September 10, 100 people rallied in the Roma Street Forum as part of a global day of action in support of the Make Poverty History campaign. Dave Andrews, representing the Christian social justice group TEAR Australia, chairing the rally, said that similar rallies were happening in 85 countries.

"It is time to make poverty history", Andrews told the audience. "But this is about being in it for the long haul. We have to grow this movement, and take it out into the streets of Brisbane."
