Irish Music and America: A Musical Migration — Traces the roots of Irish music and shows how it has influenced modern North American music. ABC-TV, Sunday, May 10, 11pm.

South — This program focuses on the seeds of racial and religious confrontation in India; Fidel Castro's stirring speech at the 1992 ecological summit in Rio de Janeiro; a discussion between two of Latin America's most respected writers — Uruguayan Eduardo Galeano and Magil Bagnios — about the past, present and future of Latin America; and a short film by Raoul Ruiz, one of Chile's best-known directors. SBS, Monday, May 11, 12.20am.

Flooded Dreams — A documentary about a dispute over a large Aboriginal burial site at Lake Victoria in far south-west NSW. Two years ago the water level in the lake dropped significantly, exposing a large number of Aboriginal remains which were subsequently protected. There is now debate over whether the lake should be refilled. SBS, Monday, May 11, 4.30pm.

Fear of the Front — The extreme right wing of French politics, under the guidance of Jean-Marie Le Pen, is gaining support. Le Pen has focused political debate in France on two of his favourite subjects — immigration and crime. This program asks why some French people are voting for Le Pen. Who is responding to his message? Why are other parties unable to stop this move towards the right? And what is happening in those cities where Le Pen's party is in power? SBS, Monday, May 11, 7.30pm.

Blue Eyed — SBS is re-screening this remarkable documentary. Jane Elliott has set up workshops from the broad community, in which she has decreed that half are brown eyed, and therefore smarter, better, more socialised, more responsible and deserving of special privileges. The blue-eyed group, on the other hand, are decreed less intelligent, less qualified, slow learners, prone to error and bad smelling. Over 90 minutes, Elliott confronts the blue-eyed people, who can never win. SBS, Monday, May 11, 9.30pm.

Staking the Globe — Highly influential organisations lobby in favour of the coal, oil and nuclear power industries, against supporters of sustainable energy. Who are these people? This program finds surprising links to organisations not usually involved in energy, and uncovers a story of power, influence, money, pressure and lies. SBS, Tuesday, May 12, 8pm.
