Coxsedge calls for Cuba solidarity

By Bill Mason

BRISBANE — Cuba has done so much for the world community, now is the time for the progressive movement to speak out in support of Cuba, Joan Coxsedge told a public forum here on March 27.

Coxsedge, a former ALP MLC in Victoria and long-time left-wing activist, as well as a well-known artist, has undertaken several trips to Cuba in recent years, and held an exhibition of her prints of Cuba in Havana last year.

She told an audience at the Resistance Centre here that, despite the US blockade and the economic crisis facing the country, Cuba was showing great strength and initiative in tackling its problems.
