BRISBANE — Police have received two firearm-related complaints and at least four complaints of harassment from young people against a local vigilante group known as White Knights.
One 14-year-old from West Ipswich was chased by three white males driving a white Commodore. Then two young people were threatened at gunpoint by a white males driving the same car.
The most recent incident occurred on July 24, when five white males in a white Commodore instigated a brawl with a group of Aborigines after having told them to "get off the streets".
Ipswich Aboriginal Legal Service spokesperson Robert Burns was told that the "safe city" cameras were not operational at the time of the latest attack, so the assailants have not yet been identified.
Lana Halpin, from the Brisbane Anti-Racist Campaign and Resistance, told Â鶹´«Ã½, "Pauline Hanson has created a climate where violently racist groups feel able to organise. This makes the task of organising an anti-racist movement all the more urgent."
