The Combined Refugee Action Group (CRAG) launched its campaign to highlight the cruel treatment of refugees in the country鈥檚 most marginal electorate, Corangamite, on April 7.
#ChooseFairnessAndDecency, which was launched at the Barwon Heads Bridge, is asking voters to consider 鈥渇air鈥 and 鈥渄ecent鈥 policies for asylum seekers asking Australia for protection and a chance to rebuild their lives.
CRAG鈥檚 decision to campaign in Corangamite is aimed at adding pressure on Liberal MP Sarah Henderson, who holds the seat by a margin of 0.03% after last year鈥檚 redistribution.
CRAG will be distributing its policy comparison sheet at markets and stalls in the lead-up to the elections, during pre-poll and on polling day at every booth in Corangamite.
CRAG co-convenor Tim Gooden and election campaign convenor Linda Cusworth pointed out that of the major parties, the Liberals scored the worst for its refugee policy.
