Under The Rainbow: Still Dreaming — Part 3 of a series about Australia's counter-culture. The final program looks at the arts, philosophies, spirituality and hopes for the future of the "Rainbow Region" of northern NSW. The Europeans: Springtime in Germany — A special series on Germany begins with a look at the eastern state of Saxony — since reunification, a museum of abandoned factories. The government wants to turn it into a high-tech post- industrial park. What do the hundreds of thousands of workers made unemployed since reunification think? Mighty Gabby — Gabby is recognised as one of the best calypso singers in Barbados. His songs are routinely banned from Caribbean radio stations. His music ranges from a celebration of cricket to crusades for nationalism and justice. He likes to party too. ABC Radio National, Sun June 13, 8.20 p.m.

That's History: Flinders Island — A feature on the history of the Aboriginal community on Flinders Island in Bass Strait, based on interviews recorded for the film Black Man's Houses. ABC Radio National, Fri June 18, 7.10 p.m. (repeated Sun June 20, 2.05 p.m.).

Gypsy Fire, Balkan Beat — Ivry Gitlis with Efim and his Gypsy Band Hora. Romany music from Transylvania, Poland and Estonia. One of the world's best beat bands. Also, clarinettist Ivo Papazov and his Wedding Band present folk music from Bulgaria, Greece, Turkey, Macedonia, India and Arabia given the funk, rock, jazz and African Caribbean treatment. Zero Grazing — Uganda has a chilling AIDS epidemic. One in eight of the population carry the HIV virus. Journalist Joel Kibazo returns home to discover the effects of the virus on his family, his friends and the Ugandan way of life. ABC Radio National, Sun June 20, 8.20 p.m.

Awaye: The Pitjantjatjara story — During the Tjukurpa, or creation period, a giant lizard man, Wati Ngintaka, travelled across the country. The story of his journey is told in the land. Nganyinytja, a senior Pitjantjatjara woman, takes us to some of the places in her country to tell us the story. ABC Radio National, Mon June 21, 10.05 a.m. and 8.05 p.m.
