Four hundred people rallied outside the US Consulate on June 27 to protest the United States Supreme Court decision to strike down the 1973 Roe v Wade ruling, that granted women a constitutional right to abortion.

Speakers addressed the restrictions of abortion rights in Western Australia, where it is still regulated under the criminal code.

Protesters marched through the city chanting “Our body, Our choice” and “Pro life is a lie; you don't care if women die”.

Another protest in defence of abortion rights is being organised on July 2 at 1pm in the Murray Street Mall.
