New Wollongong Resistance Centre

WOLLONGONG — The Democratic Socialist Party and Resistance opened a new centre on Saturday, April 30, with a lunch and drinks after the May Day march.
An informal occasion, the opening marked the re-establishment of a Resistance Centre in the region several years after the last centre closed.
Wollongong DSP organiser Sean Moysey said it was appropriate the office be opened during the May Day period. It would be "a place to discuss socialist ideas, to discuss progressive issues, a place to organise and for activists to get together".
Moysey said the DSP and Resistance aimed to use the office as a focus for new activists. A section of the office will become a bookshop area for socialist and progressive publications not available anywhere else in Wollongong. The walls of the office have become a gallery of radical history, covered in posters produced during the last 20 years.
