International appeal

This week Â鶹´«Ã½ Weekly received a postcard from a subscriber. The card expressed the subscriber's concern that she hadn't received a copy of the paper for some time. The reason? She has moved to Japan, and wanted to know if we could send her details for international subscription rates. The postcard finished "Thanks for your help — I sure miss GLW here in Japan!"

Â鶹´«Ã½ Weekly currently has more than 1500 subscribers. While a small proportion of these are from overseas, the vast majority are in Australia.

Subscribing ensures that you never miss a beat. Even if you're a regular street buyer, something could always go wrong. You might be sick one week, and miss a vital update on the campaign against nuclear testing in the Pacific. Worse still, your regular seller might get sick, and so you miss a unique article on the situation in Russia.

When you subscribe, Â鶹´«Ã½ comes each and every week to your door. Rain, hail or shine; in sickness or in health, the paper will continue to arrive, week in, week out.

Buying a subscription to Â鶹´«Ã½ Weekly is also more cost effective. For a one-year subscription, the price of the paper mailed to your door averages $1.36 per issue, even cheaper than buying it on the street.

Subscriptions are also important to Â鶹´«Ã½ itself. Subscriptions guarantee our circulation and our income. The more subscriptions we have, the stronger the paper becomes.

So whether you live in Nagoya or Newcastle, subscribing to Â鶹´«Ã½ is your best option. Read the paper with international appeal, every week. Â鶹´«Ã½ Weekly — it's your newspaper. n
