Greg Wilton, vice-president of the WA Electrical Trades Union:
Craig Johnston led from the front, not from behind. He got out there and stood up for workers' rights and against the casualisation of the work force. The fact that these charges have been brought against him, which if followed through will bar him from holding office in the union, would be a great loss to the union movement as a whole.
I believe that some Â鶹´«Ã½ within the trade union movement are more interested in political gain than in the interests of their members and that is why they're not supporting Johnston. They're probably toeing the Labor Party line and are fearful of a true left-wing party coming from the ranks of the union movement.
