Ambush In Mogadishu — On October 3, 1993, elite US military units were pinned down on the streets of Mogadishu by forces of the Somali warlord Mohammed Farah Aideed. This incident has been given the Hollywood treatment in Black Hawk Down. Eighteen US soldiers died.
